Brainstorming

Overview

Concept design and package is a key development phase that considers 90% of the vehicle's design criteria and function within the first 10% of the programme's development time.

It is the embryo of the design that will grow into the birth of the product.

There are disciplines within this phase that have finite requirements but these sub categories must be considered simultaneously as they all have their own influence on establishing the concept.

The Brainstorming Process

This is a series of active meetings where all associated disciplines define their needs for the product Stadco's full spectrum of development experience from concept through to in-depth manufacturing knowledge makes this process really meaningful.

Stadco's team considers all relevant criteria to establish the objectives for the product around the initial customer specification. This process includes styling concepts, marketing / legal requirements, engineering / structural objectives and manufacturing wants.

Stadco's experts understand that compromises sometimes have to be agreed with objectives divided into the categories "must have" or "nice to have". Between these brainstorming meetings, the concept designers in partnership with the customer establish sketches / CAD concept models to facilitate the sessions.

The project team generates alternative concepts to review and give direction during the brainstorming process. This busy phase takes about 2-4 weeks dependent upon the complexity of the concept.

At the end of this process, with Stadco guidance a firm direction is established to give key inputs to the styling development and consolidate the concept design / package.
