To complement our Body In White offer Stadco has extensive capability in the surface protection of products. Within the group Stadco have Electrophoretic, Powder Coat and Top Coat painting facilities.

Electrophoretic Painting

Stadco uses the Cathodic Electrophoretic technology to applicate a protective, anti corrosion, first paint coat.

Electrocoating, which is also referred to as electrodeposition, electrophoretic deposition, or electropainting, is an organic finishing process that uniformly applies thin-film primers and one-coat finishes to metallic substrates. Electrocoating resembles electroplating in that it utilizes an electric current to deposit a coating onto substrates. However, electrocoating deposits waterborne paint onto substrates rather than metal ions. The overall process consists of four main process steps: pretreating, electrocoating, rinsing, and baking.

The Cathodic Electrocoating offers several benefits for both Stadco and customers:

  • Reduces the environmental impact associated with hazardous solvents, VOD and waste.
  • Applies a uniform coat over parts with simple or complicated shapes, as sharp edges and points.
  • Offers many of the desirable coat characteristics, such as protection against abrasion, corrosion and wear.

Stadco use PPG's latest generation technology, Powercron 6200, which offers industry leading performance.

Within the group Stadco has a wide range of facilities, which coupled with great flexibility offers the industry a complete painting solutions.
