Stadco appoints UK Manufacturing Manager

Stadco Ltd, the leading supplier of body-in-white services and facilities for the global automotive industry, has announced the appointment of Mark Hemming as UK Manufacturing Manager, based at the company's head office in Shrewsbury.

The appointment of Mr Hemming to the new role underlines Stadco's commitment to provide a dedicated resource to manage the needs of the company's growing business in the UK, which includes OEM customers such as BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover and Toyota. The appointment is particularly important as it comes at a time when Stadco continues to grow and expand in other key automotive markets, such as Russia. Stadco recently announced that it has signed a letter of intent with the Leningrad Regional Government to secure a site on which it is to build a dedicated body in white (BIW) stampings and assembly facility in order to supply major international motor manufacturers in Russia - the first such operation to be established in Russia by a Western European supplier.

Mr Hemming will have manufacturing responsibility for Stadco's four UK plants and will ensure that the company continues to deliver high quality body-in-white services to meet the exacting demands of its UK based OEM customers. Mr Hemming has worked in automotive manufacturing for over 11 years and has previously worked for the Rover Group and Textron Automotive where he managed a number of UK operations and also held roles where he had responsibility for quality and engineering for the UK business.

Commenting on Mr Hemming's appointment, Andrew Morriss, Managing Director of Stadco said: "We are delighted to promote Mark to this newly created position. His extensive manufacturing expertise and knowledge of our UK operations will help to ensure that our existing customers continue to receive the highest levels of service and that we are in a strong position to manage future growth in the UK."
