Stadco appoints Corporate Affairs Director in Russia to support new business opportunities

Stadco Ltd, the leading supplier of body-in-white services and facilities for the global automotive industry, has announced the appointment of Alexey Ilyin as Corporate Affairs Director for Stadco Russia LLC, based in St Petersburg.

Stadco Russia LLC was established early in 2006 to support the company's expansion plans and growth strategy in the fast-growing motor industry in Russia. The company recently announced major developments in Russia including a unique arrangement with Severstal-Auto and plans to develop and establish new state-of-the-art BIW (body-in-white) facilities in the St Petersburg and Moscow regions close to the assembly plants of international OEMs.

The appointment of Mr Ilyin, who joins Stadco Russia LLC from Rautaruukki Stalservice, further underlines Stadco's commitment to develop business opportunities in this key new market offering the growing number of international car makers moving into Russia modern, high quality stamping and assembly facilities.

Mr Ilyin, who has previously worked for Scania as Production Director and has a background in design and production engineering, will provide expert local advice to support Stadco's business development activity in Russia.

Commenting on Mr Ilyin's appointment, Andrew Morriss, Managing Director of Stadco, said: "We are delighted to welcome Alexey on board. His local market knowledge, contacts and expertise will provide valuable support to our existing projects in Ulyanovsk and Tatarstan region and future projects in the St Petersburg and other regions."
