Stadco wins first volume production order from Toyota

Stadco, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of body-in-white pressings and assemblies to the automotive industry has announced that it has won its first volume production contract from Toyota.

The contract will see Stadco press two major parts for the Corolla model, at its Shrewsbury plant in the UK, which will then be supplied directly to Toyota’s Burnaston plant in Derbyshire. A major supplier already to many of the biggest OEMs including Ford and BMW, the new contract further underlines Stadco’s growing reputation as a world-class leader in body-in-white engineering and manufacture.

Commenting on the importance of becoming a production supplier to Toyota, Andrew Morriss, Stadco Managing Director said: “We’re delighted that Toyota, one of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers, has recognised our ability to supply high quality parts consistently and on time. The contract underlines our capability to meet their requirements.”

Production at Stadco Shrewsbury of the two parts, the left and right panel quarter wheelhouse, started in early February. Parts are transported to Burnaston four times daily, five days a week.

Stadco is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of body-in-white pressings and assemblies to vehicle manufacturers including Ford, the BMW Group, Jaguar, Land Rover and now Toyota. Stadco has 6 manufacturing sites, 5 in the UK and one in Germany. Stadco also operates a joint venture with Taco, part of the Tata Group, India.
